UPSC Recruitment 2026 Advt No. 05/2026: Apply Online for 194 Posts (Scientist, Engineer, AD & Others)
Short Information: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 inviting online applications for 194 vacancies across 32 different posts in various Central Government Ministries and Departments. Applications are open from 23 May 2026 to 12 June 2026 (6:00 PM).

Recruitment Details: Selection Method Overview
- Selection Method: Recruitment by Selection — primarily Interview based. No written exam scheduled by default.
- Recruitment Test: UPSC may conduct a Recruitment Test (RT) before the interview if applications are large. Minimum qualifying marks in RT will be decided by UPSC on a case-by-case basis.
- Interview Minimum Qualifying Marks: UR — 50/100; OBC — 45/100; SC/ST/PwBD — 40/100.
- Shortlisting Criteria (if applicants are large): UPSC may shortlist based on (a) Desirable Qualifications, (b) higher education than minimum, (c) higher experience, (d) counting experience before/after EQ, or (e) holding a Recruitment Test.

- Complete three one-time modules first (if not done already): Account Creation, Universal Registration, and Common Application Form.
- After Universal Registration, a Universal Registration Number (URN) is generated — keep it safe.
- Fill the post/vacancy-specific application form available from 23 May 2026. Select the specific vacancy number from the list.
- After submitting the vacancy-specific form, an Application Number is generated. This is different for each post.
- Using Aadhaar Card as ID document is strongly recommended for seamless verification.
- Upload all required documents as per the instructions on the ORA portal.
- No application fee is charged. Submit and note down your Application Number for future reference.
