UPTET 2026 Online FormHow to Apply

  1. Visit the official UPESSC website upessc.up.gov.in.
  2. Complete One Time Registration (OTR) - MANDATORY for all candidates (first-time).
  3. Click on the UPTET 2026 notification link and then click 'Apply Online'.
  4. Fill Personal, Educational, Communication details carefully.
  5. Select Paper-I (Class 1-5), Paper-II (Class 6-8), or BOTH as per your qualification.
  6. Upload required documents - recent photograph, signature, and qualification certificates.
  7. Verify all the details in the preview before final submission (data once submitted cannot be changed after correction window closes on 01/05/2026).
  8. Pay the application fee online via Net Banking / Debit Card / Credit Card / UPI (SBI E-Pay or ICICI Bank).
  9. Final Submit the application and take printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.

Recruitment Note: Validity of UPTET Certificate

As per UP Government Letter No. 392/Arsth-4-2021 dated 16 June 2021, the UPTET Certificate is valid for LIFETIME from the date of result declaration for all categories.

Recruitment Note: Certificate Distribution via DigiLocker

UPESSC will distribute the UPTET 2026 Certificate through electronic mode (DigiLocker) only. No physical certificate will be issued. No correction in photograph, category, or reservation class will be allowed in the certificate after issuance.

Recruitment Note: Score Normalization

If the UPTET 2026 exam is conducted in multiple shifts/days due to high volume of applicants, Score Normalization will be applied as per UPESSC Notice No. Shiksha Sewa Aayog/2018/2025-26 dated 26/02/2026. The Commission's decision in this regard shall be final.

Recruitment Note: Reservation & Domicile Rule

Benefit of reservation (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and relaxation in qualifying marks is applicable ONLY to permanent residents (mool niwasi) of Uttar Pradesh. Candidates must clearly mention their category in the application.

Recruitment Note: Scribe & Extra Time for Divyang Candidates

Fully blind / candidates with writing disability (40%+ disability) may bring their own Scribe (Shrut Lekhak). The Scribe's qualification must not exceed Intermediate level. Such candidates also get 30 minutes extra time. Prior permission from the Centre Superintendent must be obtained before the exam along with supporting certificates.

Qualifying UPTET does NOT grant any right to recruitment or employment. It is only ONE of the eligibility criteria for teacher recruitment in UP government / local body / aided / CBSE-affiliated schools (Class 1-8). Final eligibility will be verified by the recruiting authority.

Recruitment Note: UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024

Any candidate found using unfair means, impersonation, or any act affecting the sanctity of the exam shall be dealt with under the UP Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (Notification No. 338/79-Vi-1-2024-1-Ka-2024 dated 06/08/2024), which includes provisions for life imprisonment and fine up to ₹1 Crore. Candidate may also be debarred from future exams.

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for UPTET qualified Teachers?
Ans: UPTET itself is only an eligibility certificate (no salary). However, after qualifying UPTET and getting selected as a Primary/Upper Primary Teacher in UP, the post falls under Pay Level-6 or Level-7 (₹35,400 - ₹1,12,400) as per 7th Pay Commission. After adding allowances like DA, HRA, and Medical, the starting in-hand salary is approximately ₹45,000 to ₹55,000 per month.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply online for UPTET 2026?
Ans: The last date for submission of online application and fee payment is 26/04/2026. However, the correction/fee settlement window will remain open until 01/05/2026. Exam is scheduled on 02, 03, 04 July 2026.

Ans: No, there is NO negative marking in UPTET 2026. Each question carries 1 mark, and there will be no deduction for incorrect answers. Candidates are advised to attempt all 150 questions.
