Recruitment Details: Exam Overview
- Paper I: OMR-based (Optical Mark Recognition) — 3 Hours.
- Paper II: CBT (Computer Based Test) — 3 Hours. No prior computer knowledge required; mouse operation only.
- Both papers appear on different dates (announced on tnpsc.gov.in). Appearing in both is compulsory.
- Negative Marking: No negative marking for wrong answers. Deductions only for procedural violations (blank OMR bubbles: 0.5 mark; wrong register number: 2 marks).
- Tamil Eligibility Test (Part A): Qualifying only — minimum 60 marks required. Does NOT add to merit score.
- Final merit is calculated on Part B + Part C of Paper I + Paper II only (450 marks).
- Minimum qualifying marks for Paper II: SC/ST/BC — 135 marks; Others — 180 marks.
