- Nationality: Indian Domicile — Ex-Servicemen (Pension holder only) OR Ex-Women employees (including premature retiree) of MoEF&CC (Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change) or State Forest Department.
- Minimum Service: 20 years of service in MoEF&CC / State Forest Department is mandatory.
- Age Limit: JCOs can serve up to 55 years | Other Ranks (OR) can serve up to 50 years.
- Medical Category: Candidate must be in SHAPE-1 medical category.
- Character: Must be EXEMPLARY / VERY GOOD (as per discharge book).
- Height: 160 cm (Men) | 152 cm for Gorkhas, Garhwalis & Assamese | 150 cm for Ex-women employees of MoEF&CC / State Forest Department.
- Weight: Minimum 50 Kgs (Male) | Minimum 42 Kgs (Female).

The period of enrollment in CETF Bn (TA) will be 02 years commencing from the date of enrollment, extendable by 01 year at a time subject to satisfactory performance, suitability for further retention, and continuation of the project by Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India.
