Short Information: The Staff Selection Commission has released the Combined Graduate Level Examination 2026 notification with approximately 12,256 vacancies across Group B and Group C posts in central government ministries, departments, constitutional bodies, and statutory organizations. This is one of the largest central government graduate-level recruitments of the year. SSC has re-opened the application window for 2 additional days from 23 June 2026 to 25 June 2026 (23:00 hours) for candidates who could not apply earlier. The online application was originally open from 21 May 2026 to 22 June 2026, during which more than 28 lakh candidates successfully applied. Tier-I is scheduled in August–September 2026 and Tier-II in December 2026. SSC CGL Online Form 2026Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India / subject of Nepal or Bhutan / person of Indian origin from specified countries with Government of India eligibility certificate.
- Educational Qualification (as on 25/06/2026 — revised closing date): Bachelor's Degree from a recognised University or Institute for most posts.
- Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer: Bachelor's Degree. Desirable: CA / CMA / CS / M.Com / MBA (Finance) / M.Sc. (Economics). Must qualify Subordinate Audit/Accounts Service Examination during probation.
- Junior Statistical Officer (JSO): Bachelor's Degree in any subject with at least 60% marks in Mathematics at 12th standard level; OR Bachelor's Degree with Statistics as a subject at degree level.
- Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor's Degree in Statistics / Mathematics / Economics / Demography / Population Studies / Operation Research / IT / Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Computer Technology / Computer Application / Data Science / Artificial Intelligence.
- All other posts: Bachelor's Degree from a recognised University or equivalent.

- Tier-I: Computer Based Examination (CBE) — August–September 2026 (Tentative). Objective Type MCQs. Shortlisting for Tier-II.
- Tier-II: Computer Based Examination (CBE) — December 2026 (Tentative). Paper-I compulsory for all; Paper-II for JSO/Statistical Investigator shortlisted candidates; Paper-III for AAO/AAO shortlisted candidates.
- Tier-II includes Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) and Computer Knowledge Test (CKT) — both qualifying in nature (mandatory but not counted in merit for most posts).
- Document Verification (DV): Conducted by User Departments/Organizations after declaration of final result.

Recruitment Details: Exam Overview
- Mode: Computer Based Examination (CBE) — Online at designated centres.
- Tier-I Negative Marking: 0.50 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
- Tier-II Negative Marking: 1 mark deducted per wrong answer in Section-I, II, III of Paper-I. 0.50 marks deducted for wrong answers in Paper-II and Paper-III.
- Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) and Computer Knowledge Test (CKT): Mandatory but qualifying (not counted in merit for most posts).
- Scores in multiple-shift CBE exams will be normalized using the SSC normalization procedure (published vide Notice dated 02-06-2025).
- Answer Key Challenge: Candidates can challenge tentative answer keys online at ₹100 per question (non-refundable) within stipulated time.
- No re-evaluation or re-checking of scores is permitted at any stage.
- Tier-I questions in Parts A, B, D (GI, GA, English) are of Graduation level; Part C (Quantitative Aptitude) is of 10th standard level.

- CRITICAL: SSC makes final allotment on merit-cum-preference basis. If a candidate fails Physical/Medical tests of their allotted post, their candidature is CANCELLED — no alternative post is offered. Candidates MUST verify their eligibility for physical/medical standards as per Annexure-XV and Annexure-XVI of the official notification BEFORE giving preference for such posts.
- Scribe provision: PwBD candidates with blindness, locomotor disability (both arms affected), or cerebral palsy are entitled to scribe/assistive technology. Other PwBD categories need a certificate of physical limitation from CMO/Civil Surgeon.

- Visit the SSC official website at https://ssc.gov.in or download the 'my SSC' mobile app (Google Play Store).
- Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website — OTR from old website (ssc.nic.in) is NOT valid for the new website.
- Opt for Aadhaar-Based Authentication during OTR — this avoids photograph/signature rejection issues and eases exam hall entry.
- Fill the online Application Form — no pre-existing photograph needed; the application module captures a live photo via camera. Stand before camera in good lighting, plain background, no glasses/cap.
- Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10–20 KB), dimensions approximately 6.0 cm x 2.0 cm.
- PwBD/PwD candidates must upload Certificate of Disability at the time of application.
- Pay application fee of ₹100 online via BHIM UPI / Net Banking / Visa / Mastercard / Maestro / RuPay Debit Card by 26/06/2026 (23:00 hours) — revised fee payment deadline as per Re-Open notice. Women/SC/ST/PwBD/ESM candidates are fee-exempt.
- Submit application before 25/06/2026 (23:00 hours) — revised deadline as per Re-Open notice dated 23/06/2026. Use Preview/Print option to verify all details before submission.
