Short Information: Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB) has released Advt No. 07/2026 for 3951 Computer Instructor posts — one of the largest teacher-cadre recruitments in Rajasthan's school education sector in recent years. The drive covers two posts: Senior Computer Instructor (322 posts) under both Secondary Education and Sanskrit Education departments, and Basic Computer Instructor (3629 posts) across the same two departments. Both are regular government posts under the 7th Pay Commission pay matrix — Senior gets Pay Level-10 (₹33,800–₹1,07,100) and Basic gets Pay Level-8 (₹25,500–₹81,100). That translates to an estimated in-hand of ₹36,000–₹42,000 for Basic and ₹46,000–₹55,000 for Senior after DA, HRA and other allowances — competitive figures for a teaching role in a state government school. Candidates applying for Basic must hold a Graduate degree with 'A' Level/PGDCA or B.E./B.Tech/BCA/B.Sc. in Computer Science or IT. Senior requires MCA/'B'/'C' Level or M.E./M.Tech/M.Sc. in CS/IT or related engineering disciplines. Practical knowledge of Hindi in Devanagari script and Rajasthani culture is also mandatory. Online applications open from 25 May 2026 to 23 June 2026 via SSO Portal. The written exam (CBT/TBT/OMR) is scheduled on 22 August 2026 for Senior and 23 August 2026 for Basic. Final-year students appearing in the qualifying exam may also apply, but must obtain the degree before the written exam date.

Recruitment Note: About Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB)

Rajasthan Staff Selection Board (RSSB), headquartered at Agriculture Campus, Durgapura, Jaipur, is the primary recruitment agency for non-gazetted government posts in Rajasthan. Established under the Rajasthan government framework, RSSB conducts recruitments for various departments including Secondary Education, Sanskrit Education, Home, Revenue, Agriculture, Health and many others. The board operates under the supervision of the Personnel Department, Government of Rajasthan, and is responsible for conducting written examinations, skill tests and document verification for thousands of vacancies annually. RSSB has increasingly adopted technology-driven exam formats — including Computer Based Tests (CBT) and Tablet Based Tests (TBT) — to improve transparency and efficiency. The board's recruitment notification process follows the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2022, and strict legal provisions apply against malpractice. Candidates can access all notifications, admit cards, answer keys and results through RSSB's official portal at http://rssb.rajasthan.gov.in and the Recruitment Portal at https://recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in.

Recruitment Note: Benefits & Perks Beyond Salary

Employees appointed as Computer Instructor in Rajasthan government schools receive a comprehensive package of benefits in addition to the basic salary. After the 2-year probation period (during which a fixed monthly remuneration is paid as per government rates, with no additional allowances), confirmed employees are entitled to: Dearness Allowance (DA) revised twice a year, House Rent Allowance (HRA) based on city category, Medical benefits for self and dependents, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Earned Leave (30 days/year), Medical Leave, Maternity/Paternity Leave, Children's Education Allowance, Contributory Pension under New Pension Scheme (NPS), Gratuity on retirement, Group insurance coverage, Festival advance, and annual performance-based increments as per the 7th Pay Commission matrix. Government quarters may be provided subject to availability. The job carries pensionable service status and long-term financial security that private-sector teaching roles typically do not offer.

Recruitment Note: Probation Period & Service Conditions

All candidates recruited through this direct recruitment drive will be appointed as Probationary Trainees (Pariviksha Adhin Prashikhu) for a period of 2 years. During this probation, only a fixed monthly remuneration at government-prescribed rates will be paid — no grade pay, no HRA, no DA or any other allowance will be admissible. Regularisation/confirmation will take place only after successful completion of training, passing the departmental examination post-training, and being found suitable in terms of integrity. Post-confirmation, the pay scale and all service benefits shall be extended as per the relevant service rules (Rajasthan Education Service Rules 2021 / Rajasthan Sanskrit Education Service Rules 2015 as amended). Candidates must ensure their selected department preference is correct at the time of application as this will determine the service rules applicable to them.

Recruitment Note: Department Preference & Allotment Process

A distinctive feature of this recruitment is that both Secondary Education Department and Sanskrit Education Department posts are being filled through a single combined drive. After selection, candidates will be allotted to a department based on a Merit-cum-Priority system. During the online application, candidates must fill their department preference order (which department they prefer: Secondary Education first or Sanskrit Education first). This preference order is final and cannot be changed after submission. If a candidate qualifies for posts in both departments, allotment will follow their stated preference and category-wise merit ranking. Candidates belonging to Scheduled Area must apply in the Scheduled Area column to be considered for those posts. Residents outside Rajasthan's Scheduled Area cannot apply for Scheduled Area posts.

Recruitment Note: Computer Qualification Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen

As per RSSB notification and government circular dated 22-12-2020, ex-servicemen are not required to possess the computer qualification (A Level/PGDCA/BCA etc.) at the time of applying. However, they must acquire the required computer qualification before joining the post. Additionally, a minimum 3-month computer certificate from any defence establishment of the Government of India is also accepted as computer qualification. Ex-servicemen who hold a certificate equivalent to graduation issued after 15 years of military service may also apply in the OTR by selecting 'Not Applicable' in the roll number column for Senior Secondary/Graduation and entering 'N' grade in the result field, while uploading the certificate.

Recruitment Note: Disqualification Conditions

The following candidates will NOT be eligible for appointment: (1) Male candidates with more than one living wife; (2) Female candidates who married a man with an existing living wife; (3) Any candidate who accepted dowry at the time of marriage; (4) Candidates with more than two living children born on or after 01/06/2002 (with specific exceptions for multiple births); (5) Candidates previously debarred by RSSB for impersonation, submission of forged documents, giving false information, or use of unfair means in any examination, until the debarment period has expired. Additionally, under the Rajasthan Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act 2022, use of unfair means carries a minimum 3 years imprisonment and ₹1,00,000 fine, and results in debarment from all board examinations for 2 years.

💡 Expert Tip

This notification has a department-preference system that most candidates overlook. After selection, you will be allotted either Secondary Education or Sanskrit Education department based on merit-cum-priority filled during the online application. Once submitted, this preference order cannot be changed — so think carefully before filling it. Also note: candidates from Secondary Education Department posts get an additional 3-year age relaxation since the last recruitment (2022) was for that department only, but Sanskrit Education Department posts carry no such additional relaxation. Additionally, the OTR (One Time Registration) must be completed first; if you missed an exam in any two board/commission exams within one financial year, your OTR may be blocked — clear the ₹750 penalty before applying. Paper-II carries a negative marking of 1/3 marks for each wrong answer, so an unattempted question (mark 'E') is strictly better than a blind guess.
