Ans: Selection is through a competitive written examination of 450 marks: Paper I (General Studies, 150 marks, 1.5 hours) and Paper II (Subjects + Special Education, 300 marks, 3 hours). Both papers are MCQ-type with 1/3 negative marking. Minimum qualifying marks are 40% per paper (35% for SC/ST). Provisionally selected candidates undergo document verification. If the number of applicants is large, Paper I scores may be used for shortlisting before Paper II is evaluated.

Ans: Yes, RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) registration is mandatory. Candidates must be permanently or provisionally registered with the Bharatiya Punarvasan Parishad (RCI) before the exam date. The permanent registration number must be produced before final appointment. Candidates who have completed B.Ed. Special Education but have not yet registered with RCI should do so immediately at https://rci.nic.in, as this is one of the most common disqualification reasons at the document verification stage.
