Recruitment Note: Option / Preference of Posts — Important Rule
Candidates eligible for multiple posts can exercise options for all eligible posts in the Online Application Form. The option and preference submitted will be FINAL — no change is allowed after submission. A candidate will ultimately be selected for only ONE post, irrespective of the number of posts applied for. The Commission will allot the post based on merit-cum-preference of the candidate. If allotted to a service or post where vacancies from different HODs are merged, allotment to a particular HOD will again be on merit-cum-preference basis. Once a post is allotted, no change will be made by the Commission even if the candidate fails to meet post-specific requirements like physical/medical/educational standards — candidates must verify their eligibility for each post before indicating preference.
Recruitment Note: Tie-Breaking Rules (Resolution of Equal Scores)
In the event of a tie in scores at any stage of the examination, merit will be decided by applying the following criteria in strict order until the tie is resolved: (i) Marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination — the candidate with higher Prelim marks is ranked higher; (ii) Date of Birth — the older candidate (born earlier) is placed higher; (iii) Alphabetical order of names of the candidates as they appear in the records.
Recruitment Note: NOC Requirement for Government Servants
Candidates who are currently employed as Government servants (State or Central) or working under PSUs, Autonomous Bodies, or Government Universities must upload a 'No Objection Certificate' (NOC) from their controlling authority along with the Online Application Form. If a standing order of NOC has been issued by the Department of Govt., the same must be uploaded. At the Certificate Verification stage, original NOC or 'Standing order of NOC' must be produced. Candidates who are not government servants at the time of application but join government service subsequently must produce NOC at the Certificate Verification stage. Failure to disclose Govt. servant/PSU employee status may result in non-consideration for recommendation.
Recruitment Note: Normalisation of Scores
If the examination is conducted in multiple batches using different sets of question papers through CBRE (Computer Based Recruitment Examination) or OMR mode, the Commission will apply a 'Normalisation Formula' (published vide Notice No. 2444/OSSC dated 02.09.2021) to offset the difficulty level variation across different batches. Normalised scores will be used to determine the last select marks for different categories. The Commission at its discretion may conduct the examination either through OMR or through CBRE mode.
