NPCIL MAPS Apprentice Recruitment 2026Eligibility Criteria
- Trade Apprentice: Must hold ITI Pass Certificate in the respective trade from a recognized institution (Full-Time/Regular mode). Minimum age 18 years, maximum 24 years as on 30/06/2026.
- Diploma Apprentice: Must hold a Diploma Pass Certificate in Engineering/Technology granted by a State Council/Board of Technical Education or University/Institute recognized by State or Central Government (Full-Time/Regular mode). Minimum age 18 years, maximum 25 years as on 30/06/2026.

Q.7 What is the selection process for NPCIL MAPS Apprentice 2026? ▼
Ans: Selection is purely based on marks obtained in the qualifying examination — no interview or written test. Priority is given to candidates residing within 16 km of the NPCIL MAPS plant at Kalpakkam. If all seats are not filled from nearby applicants, a general merit list is prepared. Tie-breaking is done by age (older candidate preferred), then by Matriculation percentage. Final engagement is subject to medical fitness and document verification.
Q.8 Can a candidate who has already done apprenticeship apply for NPCIL MAPS 2026? ▼
Ans: No. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship training under the Apprentices Act-1961 in any Government organisation, PSU, or private industrial organisation are strictly not eligible to apply. Absconded apprentices from any previous apprenticeship program are also permanently barred. This is a strict disqualification rule under the Apprentices Act-1961.
