💡 Expert Tip

This recruitment targets experienced railway/metro professionals — a CGPA or marks cutoff does not apply, but your Competency/Experience Certificate from your employer is the single most critical document. It must clearly mention year-wise nature and type of work performed. Vague certificates stating only department name will get your application rejected at document verification. Also note: MACP-granted higher grade pays for CDA employees will NOT be counted for eligibility — only your substantive grade matters. If you are applying for Controller or Safety assignments, indicate your preference clearly in the online form, but final allocation rests solely with NHSRCL management.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for NHSRCL Junior Engineer and Deputy Engineer posts?
Ans: Junior Engineers are placed in IDA NE-4 pay scale (₹40,000–1,25,000). After adding HRA, perks, and other IDA allowances, the approximate in-hand salary ranges from ₹55,000 to ₹65,000 per month at entry level. Deputy Engineers in NE-6 scale (₹46,000–1,45,000) can expect approximately ₹65,000 to ₹80,000 per month. These are non-executive IDA scales; DA is revised quarterly based on AICPI index.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply for NHSRCL JE and DE Recruitment 2026?
Ans: The last date to submit the online application is 14 July 2026 (11:59 PM). Applications open from 15 June 2026. All eligibility criteria including experience will be reckoned as on 31 May 2026. Visit the official NHSRCL website at nhsrcl.in for the direct application link.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in the NHSRCL CBT exam?
Ans: No negative marking has been mentioned in the official vacancy notices for this recruitment. The selection involves a Computer Based Test (CBT), followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. For DE posts (Vacancy 21–25/2026), a Personal Interview stage is also included. The management reserves the right to modify the selection methodology.
Q.4 What is the age limit for NHSRCL JE and Deputy Engineer posts?
Ans: The maximum age limit is 45 years, reckoned as on the experience cut-off date of 31 May 2026. Age relaxation for reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen) will be applicable as per Government of India and NHSRCL rules. No minimum age has been specified in the notification.
Q.5 Who is eligible to apply for NHSRCL Absorption Recruitment 2026?
Ans: Only Regular or Contractual employees currently working in Operations & Maintenance departments of Indian Railways, Government-owned or operated Railways, Metro Railways, or RRTS are eligible. This is a pure Absorption-basis recruitment — candidates from private sector, teaching, apprenticeship, freelance, or other backgrounds are NOT eligible. Experience cut-off is 31 May 2026.
Q.6 What is the educational qualification required for NHSRCL JE and DE posts?
Ans: A 3-year Engineering Diploma or BE/B.Tech in the relevant discipline is required. The specific branch varies by post — Civil Engineering for Civil/Track posts, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics for Electrical posts, Electronics/ECE/CS/IT for S&T and AFC posts, and any discipline for Operations posts (Train Manager, Station Manager, Operations Controller). All degrees/diplomas must be from a Government-recognized University or Institute.
Q.7 What is the selection process for NHSRCL Recruitment 2026?
Ans: For Junior Engineer posts (Vacancy 26–32/2026): Computer Based Test (CBT) → Document Verification → Medical Examination. For Deputy Engineer posts (Vacancy 21–25/2026): CBT → Document Verification → Personal Interview → Medical Examination. Note that candidates can apply for only ONE post from each vacancy group (21–25 or 26–32), as the CBT within each group may be conducted on the same day and time.
Q.8 What documents are required for NHSRCL Absorption application?
Ans: The most critical document is a Competency Certificate or Experience Certificate from your current employer, clearly mentioning year-wise nature and type of work performed in the relevant O&M field. Additionally, you will need educational certificates (Diploma/Degree), proof of current employment and pay scale (IDA or CDA), caste/category certificate if applicable, and age proof. For CDA employees, only the substantive grade will be considered — MACP-enhanced grade pays will not count for eligibility.
