National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO) was established in 1981 as a Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India. Headquartered at Nalco Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, Odisha, NALCO holds the prestigious Navratna status — one of only 26 PSUs in India to receive this designation, signifying significant operational and financial autonomy. NALCO is one of the largest integrated Alumina-Aluminium complexes in Asia, with its core operations anchored at the Mines & Refinery (M&R) Complex in Damanjodi, Koraput District, Odisha and the Aluminium Smelter & Captive Power Plant at Angul District, Odisha. The company mines Bauxite from its captive mine, refines it into Alumina at Damanjodi, and smelts it into Aluminium at Angul — a fully integrated value chain. NALCO also operates a Coal Mine at Angul for captive power generation. With a CIN of L27203OR1981GOI000920 and state-of-the-art technology across its plants, NALCO is a significant contributor to India's non-ferrous metals sector, serving both domestic industrial consumers and international markets.

The SUPT(JOT) posts at NALCO are unique entry points designed for freshers with ITI/B.Sc. qualifications. Candidates are initially inducted as Skilled Upgradation Practical Trainee (SUPT) for 12 months on a stipend of ₹12,000/month. After successful completion, they are promoted to Junior Operative Trainee (JOT) for 18 months (training stipend: ₹15,000/month for the first 12 months and ₹15,500/month for the remaining 6 months). This structured ramp-up ensures candidates are plant-ready before being absorbed as permanent employees.

Recruitment Note: Benefits & Perks Beyond Salary

NALCO employees in the Non-Executive cadre receive a comprehensive benefits package in addition to basic pay. This includes Dearness Allowance (DA) revised periodically, House Rent Allowance (HRA) or subsidized company accommodation, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Provident Fund (EPF) contributions, Gratuity, and coverage under the National Pension System (NPS). Medical benefits cover the employee and eligible dependents including indoor, outdoor, and specialist treatment at NALCO's own hospital at Damanjodi. Employees also receive festival advance, performance-linked increments (3% annual increment built into the scale), children's education allowance, and group insurance coverage. For shift-based roles (Operators, Technicians), night shift and shift allowances are additionally applicable. Post-retirement medical benefit is also available for eligible employees, making NALCO's total compensation package among the more competitive in the central PSU non-executive segment.

Recruitment Note: Medical Fitness Requirement

The final placement of every selected candidate at NALCO is subject to being found medically fit by the Company's Medical Officer/Board for the specific post applied for. The decision of the Medical Board constituted by the Company is final and binding. 💡 Expert Tip

NALCO's CBT paper is split into 60% technical (domain-specific) and 40% non-technical (Aptitude, Reasoning, GK, English). Most rejections happen at document upload — NALCO is strict about file size and format. Your photograph must be 20–50 KB (JPG), signature 10–20 KB, and educational certificates must be a single merged PDF under 500 KB per category. If you are in the SUPT(JOT) category, do not apply expecting immediate T0-level pay — stipend during training is just ₹12,000/month. Also note: a candidate can apply for ONE post only. Multiple applications will result in the latest one being considered and others rejected. Keep your registered email and mobile active throughout; all call letters are sent digitally only.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for NALCO Non-Executive posts?
Ans: Most posts fall under T0 Grade (₹29,500–3%–₹70,000). After adding DA, HRA, and other allowances applicable to a Navratna PSU, the starting in-hand salary at T0 Grade is approximately ₹45,000–₹52,000 per month for experienced/absorbed employees. Jr. Foreman posts at S0 Grade (₹36,500–1,15,000) fetch approximately ₹55,000–₹65,000/month in-hand. SUPT(JOT) trainees receive only ₹12,000/month stipend initially.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply online for NALCO Non-Executive Recruitment 2026?
Ans: The last date to submit the online application and pay the examination fee is 10/06/2026 (23:55 Hrs.). The application window opens on 21/05/2026 at 10:00 AM. Candidates are advised to apply well before the closing date to avoid last-minute connectivity issues on the NALCO portal.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in the NALCO CBT?
Ans: No. The official notification explicitly states there will be NO negative marking for wrong answers in the Computer Based Test. All 100 MCQs carry 1 mark each and no marks are deducted for incorrect responses. This makes it a pure attempt-all strategy — candidates should attempt every question.
Q.4 What is the age limit for General/UR category candidates?
Ans: The upper age limit for UR/General category candidates varies by post: 35 years for most T0 Grade posts (Operator HEMM, Mining Mate, Operator Gr. III, Technician Fitter/Electrical/Instrumentation), 40 years for S0 Grade posts (Jr. Foreman Mines & Electrical), and 27 years for all SUPT(JOT) training posts. Age is reckoned as on 10/06/2026.
Q.5 How to download the NALCO Non-Executive Recruitment 2026 Notification PDF?
Ans: Visit www.nalcoindia.com → Career page → Current Openings → 'Recruitment of Non-Executive Personnel – M&R Complex, Damanjodi-2026'. You can also download it directly from our Notification PDF link above.
Q.6 What is the educational qualification required for NALCO Non-Executive posts?
Ans: Qualifications vary by post: 10th Pass + ITI (NCVT/NCVET) 2 years in relevant trade (Electrician, Fitter, Instrument Mechanic, MMV, etc.) + Apprenticeship Certificate for most T0 Grade posts; Diploma in Mining/Electrical Engineering + DGMS/Electrical Licensing Board Certificate for Jr. Foreman posts; B.Sc. (Hons) in Chemistry for SUPT(JOT)-Laboratory. ITI/Diploma must be in the exact specified branch/trade — other branches are not considered.
Q.7 What is the selection process for NALCO Non-Executive Recruitment 2026?
Ans: Selection involves a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 100 MCQs in 120 minutes with no negative marking. For Posts Sl. No. 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12 (SUPT/JOT category), selection is based on CBT score only (100% weightage). For Posts Sl. No. 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 13, there is an additional Trade Test — final merit is based on CBT (60%) + Trade Test (40%). Shortlisted candidates then go through document scrutiny and Pre-employment Medical Examination (PEME).
Q.8 Can a candidate apply for multiple posts in NALCO Non-Executive Recruitment 2026?
Ans: No. Each candidate is allowed to apply for ONE post only. If a candidate applies for multiple posts, all applications will be summarily rejected. If multiple applications are submitted for the same post, only the latest submission will be considered. Application forms once submitted cannot be modified, so candidates must carefully verify all details before final submission.
