- Candidate must be an Indian citizen.
- (a) Educational Qualification: Pass in SSLC (Class 10) or its equivalent from a recognized Board/Council.
- (b) ITI Trade Certificate: Government-approved 2-year National Trade Certificate (NTC) or State Trade Certificate (STC) in Electrician or Wireman trade.
- (c) Physical Standards — Height: Male candidates: minimum 5 feet 2 inches (157.48 cm). Female candidates: minimum 4 feet 9 inches (144.78 cm).
- (d) Vision: Normal vision — free from colour blindness.
- (e) Physical Fitness: Must be physically fit for outdoor work. Fitness is assessed through a pole-climbing practical test — candidate must ascend and descend a 9-metre electric pole within 8 minutes. This practical test is conducted by Kerala PSC at the time of selection.
