Short Information: The Karnataka State Police Department has released two notifications dated 05 June 2026 for direct recruitment of 3,991 Police Constable (Civil) posts across Karnataka — 596 posts under KK Cadre (Kalyana Karnataka / Hyderabad-Karnataka region) and 3,395 posts under Mikkida Cadre (all remaining districts including Bengaluru, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Belagavi, Hubballi-Dharwad).

This is one of the largest Karnataka Police Constable recruitment drives in recent years. Of the total 3,991 posts: 2,664 for direct male, 888 for direct female, 303 for ex-servicemen (male), 96 for ex-servicemen (female), and 40 for third gender candidates.

Karnataka Police Constable Civil Recruitment 2026Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification: PUC (Class 12) or equivalent. Candidates appearing for PUC final exam can also apply provided results are declared before the last application date.
Kannada Language: Mandatory Kannada language test conducted by KPSC. Exempt if Kannada was studied as 1st or 2nd language up to SSLC. Also exempt if Kannada test was cleared in any KPSC-conducted police recruitment in 2015 or later.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years. Maximum 33 years (General), 35 years (SC/ST/Cat-1/2A/2B/3A/3B), 38 years (Karnataka forest tribal area residents).
Ex-Servicemen: Must have 5 years of service remaining on last application date and must currently hold the applicable post.
Third Gender: 40 posts reserved (5 KK + 35 Mikkida). Physical standards and Endurance Test norms as per Govt. Order dated 10/10/2025.
PwBD candidates are NOT eligible for Police Constable posts.
Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
Marital status: Male candidates should not have more than one living wife; female candidates married to a man with a living prior wife are not eligible without prior government approval.
