💡 Expert Tip

The most important trap in JTGLCCE-2026: negative marking is severe — 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer while each correct answer gives only 3 marks. Never guess blindly. In the Preliminary exam (120 questions, 2 hours), focus heavily on the 60-question Jharkhand GK section — it carries the highest weight and is specific to Jharkhand's geography, history, and culture, which many candidates overlook. Also note: if fewer than 50,000 candidates apply, JSSC may directly conduct the Mains without a Preliminary test — keep checking https://jssc.jharkhand.gov.in. Application correction window is open from 05 July to 10 July 2026 — use it if you made errors during form filling. Name, DOB, Email, and Mobile number cannot be changed during correction.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026 posts?
Ans: Salary varies by post. Level-7 posts (Assistant Entomologist, Asst. Vector-borne Disease Control Officer) at ₹44,900 basic — estimated in-hand ₹58,000–₹65,000/month after DA and HRA. Level-6 posts (Inspector, Block Statistical Supervisor, Dairy Technical Officer, Fishery Extension Supervisor) at ₹35,400 basic — approx. ₹46,000–₹52,000/month. Level-5 posts (Auditor, Lab Assistants, Junior Scientific Assistant) at ₹29,200 basic — approx. ₹38,000–₹44,000/month.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: The last date to complete online registration and fill the application is 30 June 2026. Fee payment and photo/signature upload deadline is 03 July 2026. A correction window is open from 05 July to 10 July 2026 — Name, DOB, Email, and Mobile cannot be changed. Applications without fee payment will be automatically rejected. Visit https://jssc.jharkhand.gov.in to apply.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: Yes — negative marking applies in both Preliminary and Mains exams. Each correct answer carries 3 marks, and 1 mark is deducted for every wrong answer. This is a significant penalty — one wrong answer cancels out one-third of a correct answer. Avoid random guessing. The notification clearly states this rule in clause 19, paragraph (ख): '3 marks for correct, 1 mark deducted for wrong answer.'
Q.4 What is the age limit for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: Minimum age is 21 years. Maximum age as on 01/08/2025: UR/EWS — 35 years; BC-I and BC-II males — 37 years; Women (UR/EWS/BC-I/BC-II) — 38 years; SC/ST (male and female) — 40 years. PwD candidates get 10 additional years on top of their category limit (max up to 45 years). Ex-Servicemen get 5 additional years. Only one of PwD or Ex-SM relaxation is applicable — whichever is higher.
Q.5 How to download the JSSC JTGLCCE 2026 Notification PDF?
Ans: Visit https://jssc.jharkhand.gov.in and navigate to the 'Advertisement' or 'Notice Board' section. Look for Advertisement No. 01/2026 — JTGLCCE-2026. The full notification (Vivranika) is available as a PDF download in Hindi. Read all 29+ pages carefully including the annexures for caste/domicile certificate formats before applying — errors in these documents are a common reason for rejection.
Q.6 What is the educational qualification required for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: It varies by post: Post 1 needs PG in Life Science (Entomology). Posts 2 and 3 need B.Sc. in Science. Post 4 needs graduation with Maths/Economics/Statistics. Post 5 needs B.Tech in Dairy Technology. Post 6 needs B.Sc. in Fishery Science/Zoology (Hons). Post 7 (Auditor) needs graduation in Maths/Commerce/Economics/Statistics. Post 8 needs B.Sc./M.Sc. in Pharmacy/Chemistry with 6 months experience. Posts 9 and 10 need B.Sc. (Honours) in Physics and Chemistry respectively.
Q.7 What is the selection process for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: Two-stage process: (1) Preliminary Exam — 120 MCQ questions, 2 hours, +3/-1 marking. Held only if 50,000+ candidates apply. Top 15× vacancies shortlisted. (2) Mains — 3 Papers: Paper-1 (Language, qualifying 30%), Paper-2 (Regional Language, qualifying 30%), Paper-3 (Technical Subject + GK, 150 questions, 2.5 hours, merit-based). Final merit based on Paper-2 + Paper-3 normalized combined scores, category-wise.
Q.8 Can candidates from other states apply for JSSC JTGLCCE 2026?
Ans: Yes, candidates from other states can apply but will only be eligible for Unreserved (UR) vacancies. They will not receive any reservation benefits — no relaxation in age limit, exam fee, or qualifying marks. All reservation benefits (SC/ST/BC-I/BC-II/EWS/Women/PwD) are exclusively for original domicile residents of Jharkhand with valid Sthaaniya Niwasi certificates in the prescribed format from the prescribed authority level.
