Short Information: Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), a Fortune Global 500 company, has invited applications for engagement of 1450 Apprentices at its Panipat Refinery & Petrochemical Complex under the Apprentices Act, 1961/1973. This is a Skill Building Initiative covering 11 trade and technician disciplines, including Attendant Operator (Chemical Plant), Fitter, Technician Apprentice in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation streams, Secretarial Assistant, Accountant, and Data Entry Operator. Training periods run for 12 to 15 months depending on the trade, giving candidates hands-on industrial exposure at one of India's largest refineries. Eligible candidates include Class XII pass, ITI Fitter trade holders, Diploma holders in Engineering disciplines, and Graduates in B.A./B.Sc./B.Com, with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks (45% for SC and PwBD candidates) in the qualifying examination. There is no written test for selection — candidates are shortlisted purely on percentage of marks obtained in their qualifying course, so academic performance is the key factor. Candidates must be between 18 to 24 years as on 31 July 2026, and must be registered on the NAPS or NATS portal before applying through IOCL's website. Online applications open on 14 July 2026 and close on 12 August 2026 at 5:00 PM.

💡 Expert Tip

Since there is no written test and selection is purely merit-based on your aggregate qualifying marks, double-check that your CGPA/OGPA conversion certificate matches exactly what you enter in the Microsoft Form — a mismatch between your NAPS/NATS profile and the Microsoft Form submission is one of the most common reasons applications get rejected here. Remember, both Step I (NAPS for Codes 101,102,108,109,110,111 or NATS for Codes 104,105,106,107) AND Step II (Microsoft Forms submission) must be completed — applying only on the portal without the Microsoft Form, or vice versa, makes your application incomplete. You can apply for only ONE trade/discipline; applying for multiple trades leads to summary rejection of all your applications, so choose carefully, especially if you hold a B.Sc. (eligible for either Code 101 or 108) or B.Com (eligible for either Code 108 or 109).
