Indian Navy SSC Officer Recruitment 2027Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must be eligible unmarried Indian citizens (men and women).
- Educational qualification must be from a University incorporated by Act of Parliament/State Legislature, IIT Act, AICTE Act, UGC Act, NITSER Act, or IIIT Act. Foreign degree holders need UGC equivalence certificate.
- Minimum 60% marks in qualifying degree for most branches. Logistics branch requires First Class degree.
- For Pilot, NAOO, and NAIC: Additional requirement of 60% aggregate in Class X and XII, and minimum 60% marks in English in Class X or Class XII.
- For Education branch: Minimum 60% in Class X and XII, and 60% in English in Class X or Class XII.
- Candidates in final year of qualifying degree may also apply but must complete the degree with prescribed marks before joining INA by June 2027.
- No backlog in any subject is permitted at the time of document verification at SSB centres — candidates with pending backlogs will be denied SSB entry.
- NCC 'C' certificate holders (Naval/Army/Air Wing, min 'B' Grade, 'C' cert not dated prior to 01/07/2024) get 5% relaxation in cut-off for SSB shortlisting.
- Merchant Navy Personnel with GoI Ministry of Shipping Certificate of Competency can apply for Executive/Technical branch with extended age limit (born 02/07/1997–01/01/2008).
- Commercial Pilot License (CPL) holders issued by DGCA (India) can apply for Pilot entry (born 02/07/2002–01/07/2008).
- Only unmarried candidates are eligible. Candidates who marry during training will be discharged and required to refund all pay and training expenditure.

Recruitment Details: Selection Process Overview
- Shortlisting Basis: Normalised marks in qualifying degree (formulae available at joinindiannavy.gov.in/files/normalisation.pdf).
- B.E./B.Tech. candidates: Marks up to 5th semester considered (7th semester for integrated courses).
- PG candidates (M.Sc./MBA/M.Tech/MCA): All semesters considered; final year candidates shortlisted on pre-final performance.
- SSB Interview: 5-day personality and intelligence assessment at designated SSB centres. Includes psychological tests, Group Testing Officer (GTO) tasks, and personal interview.
- CPSS (Pilot entry only): Computerised Pilot Selection System test conducted before Aviation Medical Examination.
- Negative Marking: No written exam — shortlisting is marks-based; SSB is a personality assessment with no negative marking.

Recruitment Info: Medical Standards
- Medical standards are branch-specific. Candidates must check applicable physical/medical standards (height, leg length, vision, etc.) at www.joinindiannavy.gov.in before indicating branch preference.
- Pilot entry: Specific number of candidates (based on service requirement) will be considered for SSB/CPSS/Aviation Medical Examination. Remaining Pilot applicants will be considered for other opted preferences.
- Candidates declared medically fit for CDSE Jul 27 course will be considered fit for all SSC branches except Pilot/NAOO.
- SSB recommended candidates must undergo medical examination applicable to their respective entry. Change of medical hospital/centre is not permissible.
- Final induction is subject to clearing the induction medical examination at INA Ezhimala after reporting.
