There are 30 vacancies spread across five core engineering streams — Civil, Computer Science, Electrical, Electronics, and Mechanical — including one reserved slot for widows of Defence Personnel who died in harness. Candidates need a BE/B.Tech degree (or final year, subject to cut-off) in a notified stream, and must be between 20 and 27 years of age as on 01 April 2027 (born between 01 April 2000 and 31 March 2007). 💡 Expert Tip

Two things quietly disqualify otherwise strong applicants every cycle: stream mismatch and marks conversion errors. Your degree certificate's exact stream name must match what you select online — 'Computer Science and Engineering' typed as just 'Computer Science' can be treated as a variation, so copy it exactly from your parchment. Second, if your university reports CGPA instead of percentage, use your own college/university's official conversion formula (not a generic one) — the Army treats the college-issued percentage as final, and if it drops below the cut-off after conversion, you should not report for SSB even if shortlisted on your self-entered marks. Also carry your Class 10 certificate as the sole accepted proof of date of birth and parents' names — Aadhaar or PAN won't substitute unless your 10th certificate genuinely omits parents' names.
