Short Information: The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS), a super-specialty autonomous hospital under the Government of NCT of Delhi, has opened applications for 200+ posts across Faculty, Resident Doctors, Nursing, and Administrative categories. This is a rare chance to work at one of India's only dedicated liver and biliary sciences institutes that is also a Deemed-to-be-University — meaning you get both clinical exposure and academic association under one roof.

All positions are on a contract basis for 4 years (extendable based on performance), except for Resident posts. The salary structure follows 7th CPC pay scales — Faculty posts at Pay Band-IV with Grade Pay up to ₹12,000, Senior Residents at PB-III GP-6600, and Nursing posts ranging from PB-I GP-2400 to PB-III GP-5400. Even consolidated posts like Junior Executive Nurse offer ₹28,404/month and Resident Hospital Administrator gets ₹42,264/month — well above comparable entry-level hospital roles in Delhi.

A special drive is also ongoing for Persons with Disabilities (PWD – OH category) for backlog vacancies across 8 post types. Recruitment Note: About Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS)

The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is a unique, dedicated autonomous super-specialty institution established under the Government of National Capital Territory (GNCT) of Delhi. It was set up with the specific mission of providing world-class care in liver and biliary diseases — an area where India has historically had a significant disease burden due to hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and alcoholic liver disease. ILBS holds the status of a Deemed-to-be-University, granted by the Government of India, which means it offers postgraduate medical degrees including DM in Hepatology — making it one of the very few institutions in India to grant this specialized degree. Located at D-1, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, ILBS houses state-of-the-art liver transplantation facilities, a dedicated liver ICU, dialysis units, advanced endoscopy and interventional radiology suites, and a research laboratory complex. The institute conducts high-impact clinical research in Hepatology, Pancreatobiliary Sciences, Renal Transplantation, and Oncology. Working at ILBS places doctors and healthcare professionals at the intersection of clinical excellence and academic output — a combination rarely found in India outside of AIIMS.

Recruitment Note: Benefits & Perks Beyond Salary

All employees at ILBS receive pay packages based on the 7th Central Pay Commission scales (where applicable), which automatically entitle them to Dearness Allowance (DA) revised quarterly, House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Delhi rates, and Transport Allowance as per Institute policy. Children's Education Allowance is also admissible under Institute guidelines. Contract employees receive Leave Travel Concession (LTC) and are covered under the applicable group health insurance scheme for self and dependents. Employees are enrolled in the National Pension System (NPS) as per Govt. norms. Since ILBS is a specialized super-specialty hospital, staff working in liver ICU, transplant OT, and dialysis units may also receive additional shift-based allowances. Being part of a Deemed University also offers academic perks: attending CMEs, publishing in ILBS's research output, and access to institutional library and journal subscriptions.

Recruitment Note: Important Notes on Contract Nature of Appointment

All appointments at ILBS are strictly on a 'contract basis' and the initial term is four years, except for Junior Resident and Senior Resident posts which have their own tenure as per medical residency norms. After the initial term, the contract can be extended based on performance evaluation. 💡 Expert Tip

Do NOT use a mobile phone to fill the online application — ILBS has explicitly stated the form must be filled on a Desktop or Laptop only. Your application could fail to submit correctly on mobile. Also, prepare scanned copies of all documents BEFORE starting the form: passport photo (50–150 KB, JPG/PNG), signature (10–20 KB), DOB certificate, educational qualifications, experience certificates, and category/disability certificates if applicable. The photo must be self-signed. Document uploads must each be between 100–500 KB. Once the online form is submitted, you MUST also send a physical printout with all attested documents via Speed Post to the HR Department, ILBS, D-1, Vasant Kunj, Delhi – 110070 by 05 July 2026. Missing the physical copy deadline can invalidate an otherwise complete online application.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for Senior Resident at ILBS?
Ans: Senior Resident posts fall under PB-III with Grade Pay 6600 (7th CPC applicable). After adding Dearness Allowance, HRA (Delhi rates), and Transport Allowance, the estimated in-hand salary is approximately ₹55,000 to ₹70,000 per month. This is competitive compared to similar residency positions in other Delhi government hospitals.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply online for ILBS Recruitment 2026?
Ans: The last date to apply online is 30 June 2026. However, you must also send the printed application with attested documents via Speed Post/Registered Post to ILBS HR Department, D-1, Vasant Kunj, Delhi – 110070. The physical copy must reach by 05 July 2026. Missing the Speed Post deadline will invalidate your online application.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in the ILBS selection process?
Ans: No written examination is conducted for ILBS recruitment. Selection is based on application screening, evaluation of qualifications and experience, and an interview/personal interaction round. Since there is no written test, the question of negative marking does not apply. Faculty posts additionally require verification of research publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals.
Q.4 What is the age limit for various posts in ILBS Recruitment 2026?
Ans: Age limits vary significantly by post: Executive Nurse and Junior Executive Nurse — 30 years; Junior Nurse — 33 years; Executive (General)/Junior Executive (General)/RHA — 35 years; Junior Resident — 40 years; Senior Resident/RMO/Assistant Manager — 45 years; Assistant Professor/Consultant Grade IV — 50 years; Associate Professor/Additional Professor/Consultant Grade III — 55 years; Deputy Head Operations — 62 years; Consultant (Renal Transplant) Grade I — 70 years.
Q.5 How to download the ILBS Recruitment Notification PDF / Recruitment Rules?
Ans: The ILBS Recruitment Rules (eligibility, experience, pay scales) are available on the official ILBS website at https://www.ilbs.in/?page=internal&itemid=279. The active job listings with post-wise details are available at https://www.ilbs.in/?page=hrjobs_listing. Click on each post's 'Apply' link to see post-specific details. No separate PDF advertisement is currently published; the website pages serve as the official notification.
Q.6 What is the educational qualification required for ILBS Faculty posts?
Ans: For Assistant Professor posts: MD/DM/DNB/M.Ch./Ph.D in the relevant specialization with 2 published papers (at least 1 as first author) in peer-reviewed indexed journals. For Associate Professor: Same PG degree plus 3 years as Assistant Professor and 3 publications. For Additional Professor: 4 years as Associate Professor and 5 publications. Non-medical posts like Medical Biostatistics require 1st Class Master's + Ph.D in Biostatistics/Statistics.
Q.7 What is the selection process for ILBS Recruitment 2026?
Ans: ILBS follows a document-based screening and interview model. Step 1: Online application submission with documents. Step 2: ILBS HR screens applications for essential qualifications, experience, and publications (for faculty). Step 3: Shortlisted candidates are called for an Interview/Personal Interaction. Step 4: Document Verification of originals. Step 5: Medical fitness check. No written competitive exam is conducted. Final selection is based on interview performance and credential verification.
Q.8 Are ILBS posts permanent government jobs?
Ans: No. All ILBS appointments are on a contract basis for an initial period of 4 years, except Resident posts. However, the salary follows 7th CPC pay scales with all admissible allowances (DA, HRA, Transport, Children Education Allowance, etc.). The contract is extendable based on performance. These are not permanent Central Government or GNCT of Delhi service posts, but ILBS being an autonomous institution under GNCT of Delhi makes these positions highly credible and institutionally backed.
