Recruitment Note: About Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB)

Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB) is a statutory body established under the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board Act, 1999, by the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. Headquartered at FC-18, Institutional Area, Karkardooma, Delhi-110092, DSSSB functions under the administrative control of the Services Department, GNCT of Delhi. The Board is mandated to conduct recruitment examinations for various Group B and Group C posts in departments, autonomous bodies, local bodies, and public sector undertakings under the Government of NCT of Delhi. DSSSB conducts Computer Based Tests (CBT) using a normalized scoring system to ensure fairness across multiple exam shifts. Over the years, it has recruited thousands of candidates across teaching, technical, clerical, and engineering categories. The Board is the primary recruitment authority for Delhi government teachers, including TGT, PGT, and primary-level posts, as well as technical staff across civic bodies like NDMC, Delhi Jal Board, and MCD. All communication from DSSSB is published on its official website: https://dsssb.delhi.gov.in.

Recruitment Note: Benefits & Perks Beyond Salary

Employees appointed through DSSSB to GNCT of Delhi departments and autonomous/local bodies are entitled to a comprehensive benefits package as per Central Government/Delhi Government service rules. This includes Dearness Allowance (DA) revised quarterly, House Rent Allowance (HRA) as per Delhi rates, Transport Allowance, Medical reimbursement for self and dependents, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), National Pension System (NPS) contributions, Gratuity on superannuation, Earned Leave, Casual Leave, Medical Leave, and Maternity/Paternity Leave. Teaching staff in the Directorate of Education additionally benefit from summer and winter vacations as paid leave. Group C technical staff in NDMC may receive uniform/kit allowances and overtime as applicable. All employees are covered under Group Insurance schemes, and children's education allowance is available as per DOPT norms.

Recruitment Note: OBC Reservation — Important Note for Delhi Candidates

A critical point unique to DSSSB recruitment: OBC reservation benefits are available ONLY to candidates holding OBC certificates issued by the Revenue Department, Government of NCT of Delhi (i.e., Delhi OBC list — not Central Government OBC list). Candidates with OBC certificates issued by states other than Delhi must apply under the UR (Unreserved) category. The OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) certificate must have been issued on or after 01/04/2026 and must be valid up to the closing date of application (15/07/2026). Candidates who submit an OBC certificate from outside Delhi expecting reservation benefits will be treated as UR candidates, which may affect their merit standing. Always verify your category certificate before applying.

Recruitment Note: Important Instructions for Application

Candidates must note the following critical rules: (1) Only online applications are accepted — no postal, hand-delivered, or email applications will be considered. (2) Once submitted, no corrections to the application form are permitted under any circumstances. (3) Each candidate can submit only ONE application per post code. Multiple applications lead to cancellation of candidature. (4) DSSSB registration is one-time — the same User ID and password is used for all future DSSSB exam applications. (5) Eligibility is determined as on the cut-off date i.e. 15/07/2026. (6) Candidates are advised to submit applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute technical issues on the portal. (7) During the e-Dossier upload stage after the exam, failure to upload documents within the stipulated time will result in cancellation of candidature with no further opportunity granted.

💡 Expert Tip

With 25 different post codes in a single advertisement, a common mistake is applying for the wrong post code. Each post has its own code (21/26 to 45/26) and separate eligibility — double-check your qualification against the specific post code before submitting. For JSA posts (all Pay Level-5), your Master's degree subject must match the branch you apply for — a Chemistry MSc cannot apply for JSA Biology. For TGT posts, CTET qualification is mandatory on the cut-off date i.e. 15/07/2026 — provisional CTET results are not accepted. Also note: OBC benefit is available only for Delhi OBC (NCT Delhi notified list), not Central OBC list. Apply only under UR if your OBC certificate is from outside Delhi.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for Junior Scientific Assistant (JSA) posts?
Ans: JSA posts fall under Pay Level-5 (₹29,200 – ₹92,300). Q.2 What is the last date to apply online for DSSSB Recruitment 2026?
Ans: The last date to submit the online application for DSSSB Advertisement No. 03/2026 is 15 July 2026 (11:59 PM). The application window opens on 16 June 2026 from 12:00 Noon. The portal link at dsssbonline.nic.in will be disabled after the closing date. Do not wait until the last day as heavy website traffic can cause submission failures.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in the DSSSB exam?
Ans: Yes, negative marking is applicable in all DSSSB examination tiers. As per the official notification (Para 4, Point iv), 0.25 marks (one-fourth) will be deducted for each wrong MCQ answer of 1 mark. There is no negative marking for unattempted questions. Candidates should carefully attempt questions they are confident about, especially in the domain subject section (Section-B) where minimum qualifying marks are required.
