Short Information: Coal India Limited (CIL) is hiring 660 Management Trainees (E-1 Grade) across 9 disciplines — Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, System, Electronics & Telecommunication, Geology, Industrial Engineering, Rajbhasha (Hindi), and Company Secretary — via Advertisement No. 03/2026. This is a direct entry into CIL's officer cadre, which means from Day 1 you're classified as an Executive, not a workman. The starting Basic Pay is ₹60,000/month in the E-1 scale (₹60,000–₹1,80,000), and with DA, HRA, Performance Related Pay (PRP), CMPF, and other cafeteria allowances, the total in-hand package comfortably crosses ₹90,000–₹1,00,000/month depending on the place of posting. After 1 year of training-cum-probation, you get confirmed as Officer (Discipline) — a permanent central PSU post with job security and defined pension benefits. Applications open 12 May 2026 and close 11 June 2026. The selection is purely based on a Computer Based Test (CBT) — no interview. Candidates in their final semester of academic year 2025-26 are also eligible to apply, provided they expect results by 31 August 2026. The minimum qualifying marks required are 60% for General/OBC/EWS and 55% for SC/ST/PwBD. One key caution: 59.99% is NOT treated as 60% — rounding of percentage is strictly not allowed.

- Only Indian Nationals are eligible to apply.
- Civil (Code 11): B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering with minimum 60% marks from a recognized university (regular full-time).
- Electrical (Code 12): B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering or Electronics & Electrical Engineering with minimum 60% marks.
- Mechanical (Code 13): B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Mining Machinery with minimum 60% marks.
- System (Code 14): Recognized 1st Class B.E./B.Tech/B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / IT, OR any 1st Class Degree with MCA.
- Electronics & Telecommunication (Code 15): B.E./B.Tech in E&T / EC / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics Instrumentation & Control Engg. with minimum 60% marks.
- Geology (Code 16): M.Sc./M.Tech in Geology, Applied Geology, Geophysics, or Applied Geophysics with minimum 60% marks.

Recruitment Details: CBT Overview
- Mode: Computer Based Online Test (CBT).
- Duration: 3 Hours (single sitting).
- Papers: Two papers — Paper-I and Paper-II (100 marks each, 100 MCQs each).

- Negative Marking: No negative marking / no penalty for wrong answers. No marks for un-attempted questions.
