BSNL JTO Telecom Recruitment 2026Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification (Telecom Stream): Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent from a Central Govt./State Govt. recognized Institution/University in any of the following disciplines: (1) Telecommunications, (2) Electronics, (3) Radio, (4) Computer, (5) Electrical, (6) Information Technology (IT), (7) Instrumentation.
- Alternatively: M.Sc. (Electronics) OR M.Sc. (Computer Science) from a recognized university.
- Note: Candidates with higher qualifications like M.Tech in the prescribed disciplines are also eligible.
- Qualification must be completed and degree obtained on or before the closing date of receipt of application (03/07/2026). The qualification must be from a University incorporated by an Act of Parliament or declared as a Deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956.
- Vision Requirement: The applicant must be capable of distinguishing principal colours and should have binocular vision.
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals are eligible.
- Age: Minimum 20 years, Maximum 30 years as on the closing date of registration (03/07/2026). Age relaxation as per Central Govt. rules for reserved categories.
- OBC (NCL) certificate must have been issued on or after 01/04/2026.
- EWS certificate must have been issued on or after 01/04/2026 (Income & Asset Certificate as per DoPT OM No. 36039/1/2019-Estt (Res) dated 31/01/2019).
- PwBD candidates must have minimum 40% benchmark disability as per RPwD Act 2016.

- Step 1 — Online Registration: Register on www.externalexam.bsnl.co.in from 04/06/2026 (10:00 hrs) to 03/07/2026 (10:00 hrs). Submit Circle preferences (up to all 21 Circles) in order of preference during registration.
- Step 2 — Application Editing: Candidates can edit selective fields from 04/07/2026 to 11/07/2026. Name, Discipline, and Test Centre cannot be changed.
- Step 3 — Admit Card Download: Admit card available on www.externalexam.bsnl.co.in using username and password. Not sent by post or email.
- Step 4 — Computer Based Test (CBT): MCQ Objective Type Test, 3 hours, 120 questions, 480 marks, with negative marking. Tentatively scheduled in August 2026.
- Step 5 — Merit List Preparation: Final merit list based on total marks obtained in Section-I + Section-II + Section-III (provided minimum qualifying marks in each section are secured).
- Step 6 — Circle Allotment: Successful candidates allotted a BSNL Circle based on merit position and circle preference submitted at registration. Candidates advised to opt for all 21 Circles.

The exam consists of 3 sections. Engineering Sections I & II are based on Degree Examination standard of an Indian University in Electronics/Telecom engineering. - During registration, fill: Personal details, educational qualification details, Circle preferences (up to all 21 Circles in order of preference — strongly advised to fill all 21), and choose ONE exam centre city.
