- Qualification: MBBS Degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI) / National Medical Commission (NMC).
- Registration: Candidate must have a permanent registration certificate from the Bihar Council of Medical Registration or Medical Council of India/NMC.
- Nationality: Must be a citizen of India.
- Note: Regular doctors working in Bihar Health Service are NOT eligible.

Merit Calculation Criteria
- MBBS Marks: 0.8 marks for every 1% of total marks obtained in MBBS (Max 80 Marks).
- PG Degree: 20 Marks weightage.
- PG Diploma: 10 Marks weightage.
- Total Score: 100 Marks.
- Tie Breaker: Candidates with higher marks in MBBS Part-III are placed higher. If still equal, older candidate is preferred.
Horizontal Reservation
Reservation for Freedom Fighter Dependents (2% - 29 Posts) and Persons with Disability (DQ) (4% - 58 Posts) is applicable across categories.
