Recruitment Note: About Raj-CES (Rajasthan College Education Society) — The Recruiting Department

Raj-CES (Rajasthan College Education Society) is a body under the Commissionerate of College Education, Government of Rajasthan, Jaipur. It manages the Human Resource requirements of government degree and postgraduate colleges across the state of Rajasthan. Rajasthan has one of the largest networks of government colleges in India, with over 400 government degree colleges and 40+ government PG colleges across 33 districts. Raj-CES hires Teaching Associates (contractual faculty) across 32+ subject disciplines to meet teaching load requirements where regular faculty positions are vacant. The Commissionerate of College Education, Rajasthan, functions under the Higher Education Department and oversees academics, faculty, and infrastructure of all government colleges. The Raj-CES Hiring of Man Power Rules 2023 (as amended) govern all contractual appointments made through this recruitment.

Recruitment Note: Benefits & Perks Beyond Fixed Remuneration

As a Teaching Associate (Sanvida) under Raj-CES, candidates receive a consolidated fixed monthly remuneration of ₹28,850/- as per Raj-CES Hiring of Man Power Rules 2023. This amount is revised periodically as per state government directives. The position does not carry traditional government service benefits like Provident Fund, Pension (NPS/OPS), DA, HRA, or Leave Travel Concession by default as it is a contractual engagement. However, during the contract period, the associate benefits from experience in government college teaching — which is counted as 'teaching experience' for future faculty recruitment. After a minimum service of 5 years, the appointment may be extended by up to 3 more years post-evaluation. The contract also provides a platform for appearing in and qualifying UGC-NET/SLET and research publications to build a pathway toward regular permanent lecturer/assistant professor posts in government colleges.

Recruitment Note: Contract Period and Extension Policy

As per Raj-CES Hiring of Man Power Rules 2023, Teaching Associates are initially appointed for a contract period of up to 5 years (or the period of contract of Raj-CES, whichever is earlier). However, the contract period may be extended once by a maximum of 3 more years, subject to: (a) performance evaluation by the competent authority, and (b) decision of Raj-CES. The contract will not be extended beyond the date when the contractual employee attains 60 years of age. No separate order will be issued for non-extension after attaining 60 years. The competent authority may increase, decrease, or cancel these contractual posts at any time and also has the right to amend terms and conditions.

Recruitment Note: Important Notes on Reservation & Application

Candidates from outside Rajasthan who belong to SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ati-Pichhda categories will be treated as General category applicants and must pay the General category fee. The 30% horizontal reservation for women applies category-wise within each vertical reservation category. Women's reservation vacancies unfilled due to non-availability of eligible female candidates are filled by male candidates of the same category — they are not carried forward to the next year. For OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) reservation, the Rajasthan-domicile OBC certificate valid at the time of application is required. Creamy-layer OBC candidates are treated as General category and are not eligible for reservation benefits.

Recruitment Note: OTR (One Time Registration) — Critical Warnings

OTR (One Time Registration) is a mandatory one-time process at the RSSB SSO Portal. Candidates must complete OTR and pay the OTR fee before applying. RSSB will accept ONLY the educational qualifications entered in OTR/online application — any degree or qualification not entered will be rejected at document verification. If there is a mistake in OTR qualification data, correction is allowed only ONCE using Edit/Delete option before the first application. Candidates who have already paid OTR registration fee need not pay again. Candidates absent from two board examinations within one financial year (April-March) will have their OTR blocked and must pay a penalty of ₹750/- to reactivate. Further absence in the same year results in permanent block until ₹1,500/- is paid. Always apply from your own SSO ID — applications from other SSO IDs will be rejected.

💡 Expert Tip

Two critical warnings for this recruitment: First, your OTR (One Time Registration) details on the RSSB SSO portal are final — RSSB will only accept the educational qualifications entered during OTR, so double-check every detail before submitting. If there is any discrepancy in your OTR qualifications, you can correct it only ONCE via Edit/Delete option before first application. Second, only the qualifications fed in OTR will be recognised — degrees or diplomas from institutions NOT entered in OTR/online application will be rejected at document verification. Also note: candidates appearing in the final year of qualifying examination CAN apply, but must complete the degree by the exam date. Failing to submit documents post-selection means candidature is cancelled — not the Board's responsibility.

Common Questions (FAQs)

Q.1 What is the in-hand salary for RSSB Raj-CES Teaching Associate?
Ans: The Teaching Associate (Sanvida/Contract) position carries a fixed consolidated remuneration of ₹28,850/- per month for all 32 subject disciplines. This is a flat contractual amount with no additional DA, HRA, or allowances — unlike a regular government lecturer post. The amount is subject to revision as per Rajasthan state government orders under Raj-CES Hiring of Man Power Rules 2023.
Q.2 What is the last date to apply online for RSSB Teaching Associate 2026?
Ans: The specific application start and last dates have not been announced in the notification itself (Advt No. 06/2026). The dates will be notified separately on the official RSSB website at rssb.rajasthan.gov.in and the Rajasthan Recruitment Portal at recruitment.rajasthan.gov.in. Candidates are advised to keep checking the official website regularly and should complete their OTR registration in advance.
Q.3 Is there any negative marking in the RSSB Teaching Associate exam?
Ans: Yes, there is negative marking. As per the official notification (Section 21, Note 2), 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. Each question has 5 options (A to D with E for unattempted) — if you darken option 'E' for an unattempted question, 1/3 marks are also deducted. Candidates who leave more than 10% of questions unattempted in the OMR (without darkening any circle) will be disqualified.
Q.4 What is the age limit for RSSB Teaching Associate 2026?
Ans: The age limit is 21 to 40 years as on 01/01/2027. Relaxations: SC/ST/OBC/EWS male candidates (Rajasthan domicile) get 5 years (max 45); General female candidates get 5 years (max 45); SC/ST/OBC/EWS/Ati-Pichhda female candidates get 10 years (max 50); Ex-servicemen get 15 years relaxation but not exceeding 50 years. Widows and divorce-separated women have no upper age limit. PwD gets 5 years additional relaxation.

Look for the 'Recruitment' or 'Notifications' section on the homepage and search for Advertisement No. 06/2026 (Krmank P.14(212)RSSB/Arthna/Raj-CES Sanvida Bharti/2026). The notification is a 137-page detailed document containing post-wise vacancy tables, eligibility criteria, reservation details, exam syllabus, and application instructions.
Q.6 What is the educational qualification required for Teaching Associate?
Ans: Candidates must hold a Master's degree with minimum 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from a recognised university. Additionally, they must have cleared UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, SLET, or SET — OR must hold a Ph.D. degree (Ph.D. holders are exempted from NET/SLET/SET). Candidates in the final year of qualifying degree may apply but must complete the degree by the exam date. Knowledge of Devnagari Hindi script and Rajasthan culture is also required.
Q.7 What is the selection process for RSSB Raj-CES Teaching Associate?
Ans: Selection is based on a written competitive examination with 2 papers: Paper I (General Studies of Rajasthan — 60 questions, 75 marks, 1 hour) and Paper II (Subject-specific — 120 questions, 300 marks, 2 hours), total 375 marks with negative marking of 1/3 per wrong answer. Candidates must score minimum 36% in each paper and 40% overall (31% per paper, 35% overall for SC/ST). Merit list is prepared and recommended to the Raj-CES/College Education Directorate for document verification and appointment.
Q.8 Is the RSSB Teaching Associate a permanent government job?
Ans: No, this is a contractual (Sanvida) post — not a permanent government position. Appointments are made under Raj-CES Hiring of Man Power Rules 2023 for an initial period of up to 5 years, with a possible extension of up to 3 more years based on performance evaluation. The fixed monthly remuneration is ₹28,850/- with no pension, PF, or other permanent government service benefits. However, the experience gained counts as teaching experience for future permanent faculty appointments.
